This is the last week to check out books from the Pennekamp library. There will be no more checkouts after Friday, May 29. Classes will visit the library this week and next, but the last week of class visits will be that of June 1 to June 5. Why is this? There are roughly 2,000 books from our collection that are circulating at any given time. In the coming weeks I will be seeing that all books are returned. On June 12, the volunteers and I will have our "shelf-reading" day, when we put all the shelves in perfect order to be ready for the start of school in the fall. Classes with special circumstances may visit the library an extra time or two, by arrangement.
Parents and students, please note that a hold will be placed on a student's report card if the student has any unreturned library books; likewise parents must also return all library materials checked out in their own name to avoid having a hold being placed on their student's report card. Please contact me if there are any questions or concerns about library circulation. To pay for a lost or damaged book, please find out the exact price of the book, then send cash (exact change) or a check to MBUSD for the specific price of the lost or damaged book.
